Halloween is one of our favourite times of year at Adventure Island. There’s just something about the darker evenings and the chance to get a little spooky that makes it extra fun. This October half term, we’ve been busy behind the scenes making sure Halloween Fright Fantastic is ready to go – it’s shaping up to be a week full of laughs, thrills and maybe the odd jump scare!
Our Art and Design team have been having a blast this year, bringing Southend’s newest musical sensation, ‘Deadbeats’, to life. This mischievous boyband is performing at Deading Festival in the Funtopia tunnel and you won’t want to miss them! The tunnel has had a full makeover thanks to all the creative minds behind the scenes. It’s the perfect backdrop for some spooky snaps to remember your visit.
Meanwhile, our Workshop team have been putting the finishing touches on decorations across the park, from giant pumpkins and spiders to our much-loved animatronics – making sure every corner feels eerie and fun, while also getting all the rides ready for half term.
And it’s not just about the decorations – there’s plenty happening to keep everyone entertained! We’ve got trick-or-treating and our best-dressed costume competition, which always brings out some impressively creative outfits. Our free Halloween face painting is perfect for transforming into anything from a pumpkin to a vampire – and yes, grown-ups are more than welcome to join in too!
On Saturday 25th October and Saturday 1st November, the seafront comes alive with free fireworks, giving families a magical way to round off the day. And once the sun goes down, the excitement continues – we’ll be staying open late so you can enjoy all your favourite rides, beautifully lit up in the dark.
