A busy summer has come to an end at Adventure Island.
We are now welcoming in our off-peak season. While the main park is closed on the weekdays, our team have continued to work extremely hard on a few projects that we are excited to share with you.
Coming soon to Adventure Island is the highly anticipated return of our iconic Time Machine which will be sporting a new immersive look to take you back in time.
This attraction has been a hit among older and younger thrill seeking park goers for years. Our internally built ride has become a well-known fan favourite with spins, lifts, twist and high speeds.
“Time machine has undertaken a re-theme”- Frankie from our Art and design department exclusively comments. “We all sat down and researched about time machine and took into consideration the works of H.G Wells and from his artwork we were able to interpret our own ideas and gain inspiration.” The results of this is seen in the sleek new design of the ride which will be making its debut very soon. “My favourite part of this job is seeing the artwork come alive from being digital to being printed and being on the ride itself” Frankie concludes.
We were able to catch up with Charlie from our workshop team who gave us an update on the progress of time machine highlighting the hard work put into the ride. “Time machine has gone back to its bare metal” he comments “it has been sanded, shot blasted and resprayed to give the ride a new and improved look.” Along with the design of time machine, our maintenance team have been working non-stop on this ride – ensuring safety and high quality experiences for park goers.
In other exciting news, Adventure golf is also undergoing a few cosmetic changes. This will surely add a new element of adventure as a Jurassic twist is being introduced to your golfing experience. Kiddi Koasta has also had a touch up which we are excited to share with you.

The City of Southend Firework Spectaculars are starting earlier this year on the 28th of September till the 16th of November.
